About Us
“Our Centre Is Here To Help Your Childcare Experience Be As Easy As Possible…”
Le Fevre Community Children’s Centre is not for profit, community-owned and run Child Care Centre. We provide care for up to 54 children across 4 rooms and provide transport to and from Our Lady of the Visitation Pre-school every day.
Our centre is divided into 4 rooms:
Babies 0-18 months (non-walkers)
Toddlers 18 months-2.5 years
Pre Kindy 2.5-3.5 years
Kindy 3.5-5 years
We value and respect childhood as an important time in a person’s life and should be valued and respected. It is a time where children should be able to play, build friendships, explore, question, investigate and have fun.
We have a large outside area with lots of natural spaces for children to explore and programs that are lead by children’s interests and inquiry.
We have a small and committed team and many of our Educator have been with us for 10+ years and we have a very low turnover, which means you’ll have the same people looking after your children each day.
Our Educators demonstrate a strong commitment not just to the children, but to their families, the centre and the community that we serve.
Communication underpins quality care and we use a range of tools to provide parents with daily information, including communication books, portfolios, floor books and regular verbal discussion.
Our centre is managed by a committee made up of parents, educators and dedicated community members. This connectedness to our community means that we understand and listen to the needs of the community.
Our Centre’s Four Rooms
-
BABIES
Our babies room is a small
and intimate environment where educators and babies can be in close proximity to one another. We can cater for up to 8 babies aged 6 weeks – 18 months.
Routine, meals, sleep and
comfort are built around
individual needs and educators work hard to mimic
home routines. -
TODDLERS
Our very busy toddler room is filled with 12, 18 month – 2.5-year-old children.
This age group love to move, and we meet this need by providing lots of space and opportunities to be outside.
Activities are set up that allow for this group to “do it myself”, supporting children’s emerging autonomy.
-
PRE KINDY
The Pre kindy room caters for up to 20 children aged 2.5 – 3.5 years old.
Children are encouraged to develop their emotional intelligence, by sharing stories, songs and expressing ideas.
There is a focus on self-care, as children develop toileting skills, serve themselves lunch and increasingly take on more responsibility.
-
KINDY
The Kindy room caters up to 20 children aged 3.5- 5 years old.
Educators support their growing identities through programs that foster emotional intelligence, self-care, child protection and skills of assertiveness.
Through individual, small and large group play children are given the skills to collaborate, assert and communicate.
